What’s in it?
ARTstor is a digital library that contains hundreds of thousands of high-resolution images of art, architecture, and archaeological artifacts. Each image is accompanied by descriptive information. Access to ARTstor also offers our Auraria Campus Institutional Collections including ArchiVision and JStor Forum, or Shared Shelf and the Auraria Digital Resources Collection, which contains images created and shared by campus faculty.
Why should you use it?
To easily find high resolution images of art for presentations and research. This database has a robust and easy to use search feature that allows users to limit their search by type, date, and subject. Results can be sorted by relevance, date, source, or author.
Who should use it?
Current students, faculty, and staff who are interested in art, architectural, and archeological history and visual studies.
Why use a database?
When you use a specific database, rather than a search engine or discovery tool, you often can find more relevant sources. For example, subject databases include sources about that subject only, rather than a general search engine or discovery tool that includes information about everything. This way you don’t have to wade through thousands of irrelevant results!
