Five primary databases provide key engineering content: ACM Digital Library, ASCE Civil Engineering Research Library, ASME Digital Library, Engineering Village and IEEE Xplore. Each of these are searched by Start My Research on the Library homepage for convenience. Plus each interface has additional capabilities including alerts and saved searches that are useful for extended research projects. References and full text can be exported to citation management software like EndNote.
ACM is computing all the way down, including computation theory, graphics, bioinformatics, data and security. ASCE is civil engineering including topics from aerospace to buildings to water and transportation. ASME is from mechanical engineers and ranges from control systems, medical diagnostics and energy management to nuclear and solar engineering. Engineering Village hosts two databases in one platform. The first is Compendex the oldest and largest engineering database covering all types of engineering. The second is INSPEC from IET covering research information on physics, electrical engineering and electronics, computers and control, mechanical, production engineering, information technology. Finally IEEE Xplore is electrical engineering, computer science, and electronics from IoT and blockchain technology to AI.
