Auraria Library’s renovation has earned the Library LEED Gold certification for sustainability achievement from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).
LEED, or Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, is a green building certification program that recognizes best-in-class building strategies and practices. Auraria Library’s renovation included energy efficient lighting, energy efficient windows, and an energy-efficient HVAC system in an effort to achieve gold certification. The USGBC is a movement of community leaders, professionals, businesses and innovators who are working to accomplish a single bold vision: healthy, efficient and equitable buildings and communities for all.
The Library’s Leed Gold award is on display near the 10th St. entrance and you can check out Auraria Library’s Leed Gold Scorecard on the USGBC website.
