Illustration of Camp Amache Internee in History of Transportation scrapbook.

The latest addition to our Camp Amache collections is a book report on the history of communication and transportation submitted to Amache High School history teacher Katherine Odum by a Japanese-American student identified as "M. Miura." Miura's report is a breathtaking example of the talent and drive exhibited by so many of the internees at Campa Amache, and is replete with beautiful hand-drawn illustrations and meticulously measured graphs. The report itself covers the history of transportation in North America from horses to trains and finally to automobiles and airplanes. It also features an amusing and thoughtful "autobiography" of an automobile.

Be on the lookout for more Campa Amache materials in the near future!
