Auraria Library Group Study Rooms with construction tape on them

During Winter Break and into the new year, some areas of your Auraria Library will be unavailable as we conduct accessibility upgrades and bring in new features.

Group Study Rooms AL-210A thru AL-210H, along with the North and West Computer Labs, will be unavailable during Dec. 19, 2022 – Jan.15, 2023.

Group Study Room Upgrades for Better Accessibility

As part of our mission to support the diverse populations of the Auraria Campus, we continue our commitment to accessibility by renovating our group study rooms to include:

  • More accessible entry doors with key card access
  • Automatic blinds to reduce glare
  • Walls patched and painted
  • Mounted TVs higher on the wall to allow for adjustable-height tables and wheelchair clearance

Computer Labs Gain New Features

Our learning-centered approach means library spaces, services, and resources are always focused on supporting students and their learning experiences. What better way to continue that focus than by offering these latest technology updates:

  • Retirement of West Computer Lab and relocation of computer equipment, except for microfilm computer and scanner.
  • Upgrade all computers in North Computer Lab to include:
    • 37 Computers
    • 4 ADA Compliant Computers
    • 5 Quick-Lookup Computers
    • New Print Station
  • Our Research Computer Lab will gain:
    • 12 New 24” iMacs
    • KIC Scanner
    • New Print Station
  • The South Computer Lab will gain:
    • New Print Station
  • Ask Us Desk
    • 1 Quick-Lookup Computer
    • New Print Station and Black/White Printer
  • While these labs are closed, the following will not be accessible by our users:
    • All North Computers
    • Quick Lookup Computers 1-4
    • North Print Station
    • North KIC Scanner
    • North Flatbed Scanners
    • Assistive Technology Work Room
    • All West Computers
    • West Print Station
    • West KIC Scanner

While we add these improvements, there may also be some construction disruptions such as loud sounds and dust on the first and second floor. Please plan accordingly and look forward to easier-to-use group study rooms and new features in our computer labs when you return.

It's just another way we're working to be an indispensable partner in your educational experience.
