GeoWeek is happening in mid-November and there are lot of events occurring along the Front Range, including some in our very own library!

On Wednesday, November 13th, there will be geospatial-centric activities at the Discovery Wall all day, including:

  • Building a photo map of Auraria Campus with Mapillary - bring a jacket, a smart phone and help create a way for students to see our campus from afar.
  • Creating vector art from map data - print your result on a T-shirt or take it to the Innovation Garage to create a sticker!
  • Geospatial Lightning Talks and Posters - learn what people are doing in this discipline
  • Humanitarian Mapathon - contribute to OpenStreetMap data and help people in need... beginners welcome!

Thursday evening, November 14th, RM-URISA is hosting their Geospatial Career night at the Discovery Wall. Students will be able to meet and greet potential employers in the geospatial field. The Writing Center will be helping out with a resume workshop and review session.

If you want to help out with any of the events on Wednesday, please contact me for a quick orientation.  Or you can also come and try out playing with geospatial data on the day. See the flyer loaded here for more details.

In addition to the above, the City of Denver will be hosting their GISDay on November 20th, 10am - 2pm, at the Wellington Web Municipal Building, so you'll be able to catch more student work (posters) there!

Happy mapping,

Diane
