Architectural books donated by Finn Jorgensen

In March 2016, Denver architect Finn Jorgensen pursued his dream of moving to South America to continue his work. He generously gifted his large personal collection of architecture books to the Auraria Library. As part of his work, Jorgensen had traveled the world, seeking out inspiration in buildings around the world, and replicating them in the United States using environmentally sensitive techniques. He collected hundreds of books as he traveled, including beautifully illustrated, detailed volumes from Italy, Japan, France, China, the American Southwest, and many more regions. He also collected original craftsmen’s manuals so that he could use age-old techniques himself. Jorgensen hopes that his books will encourage Auraria students who wish to follow his dreams of creating architectural beauty while protecting the environment.
