May is National Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, and here at Auraria Library we have plenty of stories from Asian, SoutheastAsian, and Pacific Islander voices to celebrate! This month we present a selection of documentaries, memoirs, and fiction works emphasizing the experiences and showcasing the brilliance of this diverse group of people. In exploring these voices, readers have the opportunity to gain new perspectives and points of view from folks who have had especially unique experiences and come from a variety of backgrounds. To many readers, those experiences are familiar ones they can identify with. Whether the stories are fresh perspectives or relatable experiences, readers are guaranteed to find aspects of these characters that are easy to empathize with on the deepest human level. To check out our wider selection of Staff Picks in print, come by the library in person and browse the display by the entrance!
