Join us April 6 and 7 from Noon-2 p.m. for Auraria Creates—the Auraria Library’s 4th annual celebration of creativity and scholarship. 

Featuring new creative and publication work from CU Denver, MSU Denver, and Community College of Denver students and faculty. A reception follows presentations both days.  

In the Auraria Library’s Collaborative Classroom (Room 116)

2026 Auraria Creates Lineup 

April 6: Faculty Showcase 

Starting at noon; order is approximate and subject to change 

  • Ivan J. Ramirez (CU Denver, Health and Behavioral Sciences), on how climate events and social vulnerability intersect to shape infant mortality outcomes in Peru 
  • Dale Stahl (CU Denver, History), on how transformation of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers shaped environmental change and nation building in the Middle East 
  • Elizabeth Kleinfeld (MSU Denver, English), on resilience, grief, and what it means to care for someone you love while learning how to care for yourself 
  • Molly Zackary (CCD, Performing Arts and Music), on how musical artists can use repetition to create meaning and depth in a hyper-charged media landscape 

April 7: Student Showcase 

Starting at noon; order is approximate and subject to change 

  • Sakina Ben-Masaud (CU Denver, Art Practices), with art that explores symbolism, emotional complexity, and narrative interpretation within contemporary art practice 
  • Ven Talley (CU Denver, Illustration and Sociology), with painting that depicts the color and energy of Denver’s punk scene, celebrating music, queerness, and community 
  • Anya S.G. Moody (CCD, Architecture), exploring themes of healing, repair, and beauty within imperfection, through the Japanese ceramic technique of Kintsugi 
  • Ryan Ha (CU Denver, Biology), on targeted chemiluminescent nanoprobes and how they could improve imaging contrast and tumor detection in cancer cells 
  • Roberto Jacobo (CU Denver, Chemistry), on development of photoluminescent nanoparticles that could improve how surgeons detect and treat tumors during procedures
