Role in the Library
As the Scholarly Communication and Collection Development Program Lead, Kelly is responsible for overseeing the strategic development, management, assessment, and communication with faculty, students, and researchers on Auraria Campus and other institutions on using, creating, disseminating, and preserving scholarly information throughout the research and knowledge creation lifecycle. Scholarly Communication at Auraria Library includes collection management and development, productivity and citation management tools, data management, copyright and fair use, open access, publication processes and research dissemination, presentation of research, and research metrics. Kelly manages and leads the the four-person unit; develops and supports new initiatives; promotes resources, services, and knowledge both internally, and externally; and works directly with researchers at various stages of the research process. Kelly also reviews and selects materials for the Anthropology, Education, Library Science, Modern Languages, Psychology, Social Work, and Sociology collections, manages the Library's Research Guides, and coordinates the federal and state government documents.
