AL Safe Return Plan

The Auraria Library is initiating a phased reopening plan to provide additional resources, while prioritizing the health and well-being of our library employees and users. Library leaders will continuously assess safety during each phase and will proceed to the next phase once certain conditions are met. Phases are subject to change based on Auraria Campus policies and the evolving impacts of COVID-19.

Phased Reopening Timeline 

Phase I: July 6, 2020

The Auraria Library’s 10th St. book drop reopened between Monday at 10 a.m. to Friday at 3 p.m.

Phase II: August 17, 2020

The Auraria Library will be offering Grab-to-Go: Like curbside pickup, the Grab-to-Go service is a safe way for users to request physical materials and schedule a pickup time online or over the phone.   

The Library Café will be open with limited access and services only for Auraria Campus students, faculty, and staff. Please visit the Library Café page for additional information.

FAQs

How can I access online resources? 

All students, faculty, and staff of the Auraria Campus can access resources such as eBooks, articles, and streaming videos online using their institutional login credentials. For help accessing library resources, please visit our Off-Campus Access & Help page. If you encounter a problem using online Library materials submit a Report a Problem form.  

We also offer these helpful resources, among many others: 

  • 24/7 live chat on our Ask Us page. 
  • Members of the campus community can schedule a one-on-one research consultation via phone or Zoom video conferencing software. 
  • Library staff are available for research questions sent to library.eref@ucdenver.edu
  • Requests for online articles and eBook chapters from other libraries via Interlibrary Loan will be fulfilled.  
  • Prospector is unavailable until further notice.  

Can I use the Innovation Garage and Digital Media Studio? 

Our creative technology team is standing by via email to provide basic media support, limited to navigating software interfaces. The team strives to provide the best available assistance with questions about PowerPoint, iMovie, Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom Classic, Premiere Pro, InDesign, Illustrator, and After Effects software.

Are high school groups still able to visit? 

Auraria Library has been happy to partner with high school groups in the past. Due to the spread of COVID-19, however, we are limiting access to our facility to the students, faculty, and staff of the Auraria Campus. Additionally, we cannot provide off-campus access to our online resources to users not affiliated with the campus. We recommend that IB Program Coordinators or other high school teachers and librarians reach out to Denver Public Library to learn more about their collections of resources that are available electronically. 

We apologize for this inconvenience and hope we can welcome you back to our library once it is safe to do so.

As the Auraria Library moves through the different phases of this reopening plan and prioritizes safety, information will be updated in this article and shared on our social media: @AurariaLibrary on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

  • Visit the Ask Us Desk
    The Ask Us Service Desk is located on the first floor of the Library and provides in-person help by answering questions about the Library, Campus, or three Institutions. This service also loans anatomical items, technology items (such as phone charges and calculators), plus course reserves, or textbooks, for some classes. Please visit the Safe Return page for information about when this service will be available.

  • Research Consultations
    Research consultations are for in-depth and lengthy discussions about research questions. Please use Schedule a Research Consultation Form to request an appointment. We can help you out via Zoom or over the phone. Due to the level of preparation needed, appointments should be made 48 hours in advance. If you need immediate help, please use our 24/7 chat service.
